This symposium on integrated practice sponsored by the BSA and Autodesk brings together leading practitioners and
researchers for a series of interactive panel presentations and case-study discussions. Topics addressed include
collaborative integrated process management, the current and future state of integrated practice, organizational
change and decision-making.

innovation and continued pressure to improve the outcomes of design and construction. What trends are lurking in the
future to drive the design and construction industry in new directions? Consider some surprising scerios for the
future and digest the implications of these scerios for your work and life.

What are the implications of collaboration for business models and project methods? Building industry innovators
present new approaches to evolving a business around integrated practice. In this forum session, a team of leaders
considers the question from several perspectives that of the owner, architect, engineer and contractor. Panelists
also offer their views of a current project on which they are all participants.

A distinguished panel of leaders in design and construction present a diverse set of perspectives on the current state
of project delivery innovations founded in formal collaboration. What are the obstacles to collaboration and shared
risk and reward? How are firms overcoming these obstacles? What is the state of adoption of these practices in the
industry today?
A68 Integrated practice case studies and an interactive case problem

What are the implications of integrated practice for the relationships among collaborators? In this interactive
session, we review an integrated project proposed by a hypothetical client. Attendees break into groups to engage the
issues of interactive project delivery point-by-point. Gain a first-hand understanding of the challenges and benefits
of this approach.
The package cost for the symposium is $260 if you register before October 24 and $300 if you
register after that date (this is a significant savings over the individual workshop costs). However, you may choose
to register for one or more individual sessions by selecting the individual workshops in the a la carte section of the
